Super Peyton or Super Russell?

The 2014 Super Bowl is just a few days away, and in anticipation of the “big game”  sports enthusiast are and odds makers are weighing in on the outcome.

Peyton Manning Russell WilsonWill it be Denver over Seattle (or vice versa)?  Can Russell hang in the pocket as well as Peyton?  Will it be in with the new or out with the old?  Will Peyton break his all time record of yelling “Ohama” in a single game and more importantly, what are the odds of the Veteran quarterback landing an endorsement deal with Omaha Steaks and  become what Marshawn Lynch is to skittles.

If I had to bet…I’d say that the “Superbowl Point Spreads”   are definitely in his favor.

We are now just days away from settling all of these questions.

Can Peyton win 1 more Super Bowl and solidify himself as one of the all time greatest QB’s, or, will Russell and the new wave Seahawks spoil the going away party? It was great last weekend watching Peyton and Tom battle it out knowing that we were witnessing possibly the final duel in this classic rivalry. It was also kind of ironic that the final 4 teams left in the playoffs were between 2 of the young guns and 2 of the legends of the game.

Detriot Lions, Nick Farley is Arrested Again.

Defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions, Nick Fairley is in trouble with the law…AGAIN!

Fairley was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. this morning in Mobile, Alabama and charged with driving under the influence and attempting to elude police.

He was also given a ticket for having no proof of insurance, having an open container and reckless driving.

Fairley’s bond was set at $1,750…which he posted. He was released shortly after 9 a.m. on Sunday.

This makes Fairley’s second arrested in two months…In April,  he was arrested for marijuana possession.  This arrest…which was also in Mobile, occurred as a result of area citizens complaints that a Cadillac Escalade, driven by Fairley was seen going through a middle-class neighborhood at an excessive rated of speed.  His car was stopped by police who reportedly smelt marijuana…Officials found a small amount of “pot” in the ashtray of his SUV.  It was then that he was arrested on a second-degree marijuana possession charge.

Fairley played college football at  Auburn University.  He was a  first-round draft pick.  During his junior year with the “Tigers” he received the  Lombardi Award as the nation’s top lineman and in 2010, he helped lead the Tigers to a “national championship.

Leaders aren’t born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal.

Todd Ricketts

The Cubs’ grounds-crew locker room will be getting a face lift, there will be a new trailer for the parking-lot attendant and an annual award was created for the workers. But Todd Ricketts will never hose down the bathrooms at Wrigley Field again.

Ricketts posed as an unemployed roofer named Mark Dawson and was tested as a maintenance worker, hot-dog vendor, grounds-crew worker and scoreboard operator at Wrigley for the reality show “Undercover Boss,” which aired Sunday night.

Todd is the youngest of the four Ricketts siblings who purchased the Cubs in October 2009 and drew the assignment of going behind the scenes at the ballpark. He grew a beard, wore glasses as his disguise and moved into an sparse apartment across from Wrigley Field. Ricketts took on the varied tasks but had trouble keeping pace with the bathroom cleaning. He was fired from his job as a maintenance worker by Darryl Wilson.  Read full story and more here
