A legion of notables turned out at New York’s Temple Emanu-El to remember  legendary comedian Joan Rivers.  Among those in attendance was Barbara Walters, Kelly Osborne, Kathy Griffin, Sarah Jessica Parker to Whoopie Goldberg, Bernadette Peters, Clive Davis, Kathie Lee and Hoda and Donald Trump .

Joan’s daughter Melissa and grandson Cooper looked solemn as they passed through a large gathering of fans as made their way into the service.

The comedian detailed in her 2012 book ‘I Hate Everyone … Starting With Me’ that she hoped for ‘a huge showbiz affair with lights, cameras, action’ and ‘Hollywood all the way.’

That is exactly what she got.  The entertainment world has lost an icon.  Thanks for all the laughs Mrs. Rivers….you will be missed!

Joan Rivers Doctor’s Office Under Investigation

Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic, the outpatient clinic where comedian Joan Rivers suffered cardiac arrest during a procedure last week is being investigated.

Joan Rivers UpdatesThe clinic’s website  says it is an “ambulatory surgical center” that has been “approved by the Department of Health.”  It also claims to be a a state of the art facility, staffed by highly experienced endoscopists whose mission is to provide safe and compassionate care to patients and their families.”

 Mission statement says they are committed to:

The description of it’s accreditation is blank.

Rivers was on life support and died at a New York hospital Thursday afternoon, a week after suffering cardiac arrest during a medical procedure at the clinic last Thursday.

Rivers daughter Melissa issued a statement in which she said…her mother  “Passed peacefully at 1:17 p.m. surrounded by family and close friends.

The funeral for Rivers will be at Temple Emanu-El in Manhattan on Sunday, according to temple spokeswoman Elizabeth Fezrine. Details, including the time and if the public will be allowed to attend, are not yet known.

Joan Rivers was 81-years-old.


On August 28, 2014, Rivers experienced serious complications and stopped breathing during throat surgery at a clinic in Yorkville, Manhattan. 

UPDATE: Joan Rivers Moved to Private Room

UPDATEMelissa Rivers, the  46-year-old daughter of comedian Joan Rivers has reported that her mother has been moved to a private room.  The comedian’s daughter did not indicate why her mother was transferred from the intensive care unit to the private room.

Joan Rivers, 81, remains on life support at New York City’s Mount Sinai Hospital six days after she rJoan and Melissa Riversushed to the hospital after she stopped breathing during a minor procedure.

Rivers has  has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable.  However, there has been no mention as to whether or not her condition had improved.
