Colts Cut Dallas Clarks and More Key Players

The Indianapolis Colts announced earlier this week that quarterback Peyton Manning, who was unable to play in 2011 due to injuries, was being cut from the team after 16 years with the franchise.

Now it appears that the Colts have cut several more of the franchises key players which include… tight end Dallas Clark, 32, who spent his entire nine year career with the colts,  linebacker Gary Brackett, running back Joseph Addai, 28, who rushed for 4,453 yards during his six year season with the team and safety Melvin Butt and Curtis Painter.

In a statement…general manager Ryan Grigson told the Associated Press… “It’s not easy. It’s agonizing. They’re (salary) cap casualties. It’s hard, but with the money involved you can’t do certain things.”

The Colts have dominated the AFC for more than a decade, however, last season they finished with just two wins…sources say that they are ready to rebuild from the ground.

The Colts have the No. 1 overall draft pick and are expected to sign quarterback Andrew Luck of Stanford.
