Dylan Favre Shatters Records

It didn’t take long for Dylan Favre to rewrite the Mississippi high school football records Friday night against Greene County.

Favre led the Rockachaws to a 42-21 victory, giving St. Stanislaus a key Region 8-4A victory. SSC improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in regional play as Favre completed 40 of 48 passes for 506 yards and six touchdowns.

Secondly, Favre, the Rocks’ senior quarterback and nephew of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, took over the career touchdown passing record on the first three possessions of the first quarter.

Shortly after hearing the news in Minnesota, Brett Favre sent the Sun Herald a text to congratulate his nephew.

Thirdly, Favre broke the career passing yardage mark of (9.309) in the third quarter on a 14-yard pass to Boomer Scarborough.

With four regular-season games left, Favre has 108 career touchdown passes and 9,419 passing yards.

“The records speak from themselves,” SSC coach Forrest Williams said. “If you ask Dylan, he will tell you they were team records, and they were.’’
