Donte Stallworth Allow To Leave Home Confinement

Video Highlights: Suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth will be allowed to leave home confinement to train with a strength and conditioning coach, a judge ruled Tuesday.

The Miami Herald Reports

While under house arrest for a fatal drunken-driving accident, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth will be allowed to work with a strength and conditioning trainer as he prepares for a possible return to the field, a Miami-Dade judge ruled Tuesday.

Stallworth served 24 days in jail after pleading guilty in June to hitting and killing a pedestrian while driving drunk on the MacArthur Causeway in March.

Michael Vick Reinstated

Under his plea agreement, Stallworth, 28, was allowed to play football but must spend two years under house arrest and another eight on probation. Read Full Story HERE

Donte Stallworth NFL Suspension

June 19, 2009

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended Stallworth indefinitely without pay.

In a letter Goodell wrote to to the wide receiver, he said the following:

“The conduct reflected in your guilty plea resulted in the tragic loss of life and was inexcusable. While the criminal justice system has determined the legal consequences of this incident, it is my responsibility as NFL commissioner to determine the appropriate league discipline for your actions, which have caused irreparable harm to the victim and his family, your club, your fellow players and the NFL.”
