American Idol Veto Vote Saves Matt Giraud

“American Idol” judges used their onetimeonly veto power on Wednesday to save 23-year-old Matt Giraud, from being eliminated following his performance on Tuesday.   Giraud, who is from Kalamazoo Michigan,  song choice was “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?”  The decision was unanimous.

What does the use of the veto vote mean for next weeks competition:  The save meant two singers will be sent home next week and the veto had been used.  Joining Giraud in the bottom three last night included Anoop Desai, 21, and Lil Rounds, 23, who many speculated that she might be the next to go and based on the feedback she has been getting from the judges especially in regard to what they say are poor song choices.

The other remaining finalists are Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen.

The winner of “American Idol“‘s eighth season will be announced during a live finale in May.

We want your feedback.

What do you think about the veto rule?

What two contestants will go home next week?

All seven Idols got interviewed on American Idol Extra in the wake of last night’s Judge’s Save of Matt Giraud. Unfortunately, this was an awful interview. I really wanted to learn more about the seven contestants but we got almost nothing.

There were a couple of nice bits though:

Adam is the “camp counselor” giving advise to everybody. Anoop and Danny “bounce ideas off each other” — explains a lot, LOL. And omigosh, Kris and Allison are so close to each other! Allison cracked a joked about Kris being tiny! Awww… I <3 Kris AKA K. Sizzle. I love small!
